those filters ( ...
those filters (cartridge) are really easy to break, on a BWCA canoe trip i broke the one in the filter, and a spare- not good. but once you get used to handling them, and "babying" them they last a while. one thing about maintenance is that you really need the maintenance kit, in colder weather the rubber O-rings shred, and fall apart; which is a problem where i live. good filter though,
Thanks,

Selika, I so ...
Selika, I so someone say that they have an MSR EX with the ceramic filter AND a charcoal core. Are you familiar with this model. The dude said the water was much tastier and odorless with the charcoal addition. Also, (as you may be well aware of), we have spoken on numerous occasions, and I am a longtime subscriber. But I noticed the "sub" button was unpushed. I subscribed again, but I was wondering how I became unsubscribed. Might want to watch this. Sounds like a YT bug. ~Wolf

@Shawni4life --- ...
@Shawni4life --- Dude its a .2 micron filter! Do you know how small that is? I have one and its great, just pump it at a rate in which you can see a little air in the top piece (red pump chamber) 2-3 bubbles is good, and make sure there is air in the grey filter chamber, its the "air spring" that makes it pump quicker... I average a liter in 1:30 -1:45 (min:sec). And as Selica mentioned, use a green scrubby pad evenly on the ceramic every 5 liters.

I've used mine here ...
I've used mine here on Kauai backpacking & carry it with me while out on Search's for missing visitors to our Island. It gets used about 4 - 6 times a year on weekend jaunts around the Island. Twists right up on my nalgene bottles for full water service.
Mahalo for all the usefull videos that you post!!
